Q) Hi Danielle! As Thing 1 in "The Cat in the Hat" you had to wear a lot of heavy makeup for the part. Was it a relief not to have to go through that process again and now without the makeup do you find yourself being recognized more often? A) Yes the make up process was very hard. It started out taking 3 hours to put it on, then they got it down to about 1 1/2 hours. I had 2 really fantastic make up artists Jim and Margie, and they made the time go by fast by joking with me, although it was hard because I couldn't laugh while they were putting on my mask. Actually, it's funny because I get recognized more for the part of Lea I played in "Little Secrets" than anything else. Q) How do you prepare for an emotional scene where for example you would have to cry? A) When I have to cry for a scene I go over the scene several times in my head and see myself doing it and then it usually works pretty well. Q) During filming how much time each day do you have to spend in school? A) We have to complete a minimum of 3 hours every day for school when we are on set. While filming Little House, we had a great Canadian teacher named Sandra. She was so much fun and she taught us a lot about Canadian history while we were in Calgary. Q) On the set of Little House on the Prairie did you have one of those cool director like chairs with your name on it? A) Oh yes, the director chairs are cool and I got to keep the covering which says Mary. Q) Is there a type of role or movie that you would really like to do? A) Yes, I love the Movie King Arthur. I would love to make a movie which takes place in that era. Kiera Knightly is my favorite and after seeing that my dad bought me my own bow and I was really lucky and I got to take archery lessons from Denise Parker. She was the gold medalist in the 1992 Olympics. I filmed a commercial for the Archery Federation and she gave me lessons. Q) Do you keep any souvenirs from the movies, tv shows or commericals you work on? A) Usually the production companies don't let you keep anything from the shows but my mom always takes lots of pictures. I have some great photo albums thanks to her. My mom also bought some "Cat In The Hat" items off of E-bay so I have some cool stuff from that. |
