Interview with Danielle Chuchran
By Jay Glenewinkel

jay_g: How long did it take to shoot the mini-series "Little
House on the Prairie"?

danielle: We were in Calgary Canada for 3 1/2 months filming
Little House. It was during the winter time so it was really
cold, but I like the cold and snow.

jay_g: What was it like playing the role of Mary Ingalls,
the same role played by Melissa Sue Anderson in the 1970s
and 1980s?

danielle: It was fun playing Mary Ingalls. Mary is the
domestic daughter who likes to cook, do school and be
with Ma. She is the one who is always scared and doesn't
like adventure. I guess I am a little bit like her but I
love sports especially soccer and softball and I don't mind
a little adventure once in a while.

jay_g: What was your favorite scene that you liked best
from "Little House on the Prairie" mini-series?

danielle: My favorite scene from Little House was when the
prairie fire was attacking our cabin. Of course it was a
controlled fire but it was so hot and smokey we could
hardly see and breath. We had to grab burlap sacks and get
them wet and try to put out the fire as it came close to
our cabin. It was pretty fun.

jay_g: Do you stay in touch with any of the other cast
members from the mini-series?

danielle: Yes, I do stay in touch with with the cast. Kyle
and I talk and we went to a Dodger baseball game together,
it was really fun. My mom and I were in L.A.and we went to
lunch with Erin, Ma, Cameron, Pa, and I talk on the phone
because he lives in Vancouver. The first night Little House
aired I called all of them during the show and talked to
them I was so excited. It was really fun, but it made me
miss all of them even more.

jay_g: What other projects do you have coming up in the
near future?

danielle: Right now we are just waiting to see if Little
House is going to get picked up for a series. Since Little
House I did an episode of Crossing Jordan and a commercial.

jay_g: Have you heard anything on if Little House will
return to become a regular show in the 2005 Fall line-up?

danielle: So far I haven't heard if Little House will
continue. I know that all the reviews have been very positive
and everyone seems to be liking the show. I would love to be
able to continue with Little House and see everyone again. I
made a lot of friends in Canada and would love to go back
there and see them again. I am very proud of the show and I
am grateful to ABC and Disney for featuring the show.
